Richard Greenfield
Rich Greenfield is a Partner and Media and Technology Analyst at LightShed Partners and a General Partner at LightShed Ventures. Prior to LightShed, Rich was a Managing Director and TMT Analyst at BTIG and the co-creator of the BTIG Research blog. Prior to joining BTIG in 2010, Rich was a managing director, media analyst, covering media and cable/satellite industries at Pali Capital for four years. Prior to that, he spent two years at Fulcrum Global Partners as a media analyst. Rich started his career at Goldman Sachs & Co. in 1995, where he spent eight years covering entertainment, cable system and leisure industries. Rich is an active angel investor focused on the convergence of media, communications and commerce. He loves meeting new start-ups, demo’ing new technologies and trying to figure out the future. Rich has been a New Yorker his entire life, with a stop in Boston to attend Brandeis.
Walter Piecyk
Walt Piecyk is a Partner and TMT Analyst at LightShed Partners and a General Partner at LightShed Ventures . His research coverage includes a diverse group of topics including smartphones, wireless networks, internet infrastructure, autonomous vehicles and spectrum. Prior to LightShed, Walt was at BTIG for nearly a decade as a Managing Director and TMT Analyst. In his 20+ years as an Analyst, Walt has also held senior positions at Pali Capital, Fulcrum Global Partners and PaineWebber. Earlier in his career, he held a corporate development role at Nextel Communications. Walt is an avid supporter of the Philadelphia Eagles and Liverpool Football Club and doesn’t appreciate it when people talk in the quiet car. Walt holds a bachelor of science in economics from The University of Pennsylvania.
Brandon Ross
Brandon Ross is a Partner and Media and Technology Analyst at LightShed Partners and a General Partner at LightShed Ventures . Previously, Brandon was a Managing Director and TMT Analyst at BTIG, which he joined in 2010. Prior to that, he covered hardline retail at Pali Capital. Brandon was also a co-founder of RIS, a quality control technology company serving medical device manufacturers. He began his career as an investment banking analyst in the media group at Salomon Smith Barney. Brandon’s favorite times of year include Summer Tour and Fall Tour. He tries to visit at least two new countries every year. Brandon has been cursed as a fan of an unlikely group of pro sports teams: the Mets, Sixers and Giants. He holds a bachelor of science degree in economics and a bachelor of arts degree in intellectual history from the University of Pennsylvania.
Joseph Galone
Joe Galone is a Senior Director at LightShed Partners. Previously, Joe was a Director covering TMT at BTIG, which he joined in 2010 following Pali Capital. Prior to Pali, Joe worked in the Strategy and Finance group at ESPN where he helped launch Mobile ESPN, a wireless MVNO. Joe has held other sell-side research positions including roles at SG Securities (London) and PaineWebber. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Joe is an avid Philadelphia sports fan. When Joe isn’t keeping an eye on Melvin the min pin, he can be found enjoying the great outdoors. Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania.
Mark Kelley
Mark Kelley is a Director at LightShed Partners. Prior to LightShed, Mark was a Vice President at BTIG covering Media and Tech. Earlier in his career, he was a Senior Equity Research Associate at FBR. Mark is a lifelong suffering Mets and Knicks fan who copes with lost seasons through daily fantasy sports and intramural softball. He earned a BA in political science from The George Washington University and is a CFA charterholder.
